2013 Gmarket Haul #1

22 Feb

Image

Hola! I’m finally (hopefully!) back in the blogging world. I know I’ve been MIA for a looong time; life just got in the way ;). Anyway, I am back to share my first haul for Gmarket this year. I’m always excited when I purchase off Gmarket and waiting for my package always makes me giddy.

Date Ordered and Paid: February 11

Date Shipped: February 18

Date Delivered: February 21

I was extremely pleased with my order this time being so fast and drama-free. I would like to say I was surprised to see my package waiting for me at my apartment lobby but I was checking the tracking system all day yesterday so I was expecting all the glory that my Gmarket box represents. 🙂

Who sent my package this time?

Love him! ha-ha

Let’s a look inside the box, shall we?

…and the family picture of the boxes.

Let’s begin with:

Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream

Image

Would you believe that I got this for a dollar (US$1)? This snail cream was one of the reasons why I opted to make a haul. This product is too cheap to pass. I haven’t tried this before although I have tried the Mizon All-in-One Snail Healing Cream which I really loved. Despite being on promotion, the snail cream was also delivered fast. I also found a Mizon seal indicating it’s authenticity in the box. So it’s a thumbs up, for me.

MP4 Player

Image

I was back to jogging on the weekends and although I can use my phone for my music, I needed a basic (and yeah, inexpensive) MP3 player to accompany me on my runs. Surprisingly, I can’t find one in my local Tesco so I decided to search for one in Gmarket. Designed in Korea and made in China, this no-brand MP4 player was easy to use. It was in Korean when I got it but then after trying and exploring it for an hour or more, I finally found the English language. It came with an installer CD but it can’t be read on my laptop but when I tried to put songs into it, it also worked. Oh, despite it being called an MP4 player, it is not compatible with MP4 format, but then again I only need it for my music. It came with earphones, lanyard, USB cable, cloth for wiping, wire holder and some downloading (?) coupons? (Note: If there’s anyone in Korea who wants it, please message me. I got so much that it will just be wasted here as I can’t use them)

Lotte Charlteok Pie (롯데 찰떡바이)

Image

Ever since I have tried, Samjin Charlteok Pie last year, I’ve been craving for this for a long time. It is rice cake that is covered and filled with chocolate. I like it a lot! One box comes with 6 pieces of pies. This seller shipped this so quickly as well.

Ryoe Hambitmo Herbal Shampoo and Conditioner

Image

I haven’t opened nor smelled it but I am excited to use it. I am in dire need of a herbal shampoo as I feel that I am having more hair fall each day 😦 I read that it smelled like ginseng which I don’t really mind because I have used a few herbal shampoos before. I’ll post a review once I use this shampoo and conditioner.

So that’s it! I really did not buy a lot this time, just goodies that I really need. I am looking forward to making more Gmarket hauls again. If you need links or reviews of the products, please do not hesitate to message me.

Hope you all enjoy your Friday and the weekend.

Cheers, everyone! 🙂

The Skin House Wrinkle Snail System Cream

15 Mar

I got the snail cream here.

I got the Skin House Wrinkle Snail System Cream from Gmarket in November last year and I took some time to test it before I blogged about it. I forgot how much I got it for but I’m sure the price was not over KRW20000. I got the snail cream with two gifts: Skin House Lovely Kiss Lip Gloss and Skin House Speedy Recharge Water Mist.

This snail cream is the second brand of snail cream that I have tried. The first one I have tried is Secret Key Snail + EGF Gel Cream.

So, here’s my review of the Skin House Snail Cream. I have an oily/ combination skin and the weather here in Bangkok is usually hot and humid. Please do note that differences in skin types and probably weather conditions may result to different effects.

Price: The snail cream was a good value for money. It is now sold at KRW9900. I’m not sure if they still give out the same gifts.

Weight: 100mL

Packaging: The product comes in a plastic tub. It has a seal and a protective lid, too. There was no spillage during shipping.

Colour & Consistency: The snail cream looks white in the tub but when spread on the face it doesn’t make your face “ghost-like”; it actually is translucent when applied. For its consistency, it is sticky as how snail mucus should be. It seems thick yet runny.

Applicator: None. It doesn’t come with a spoon or spatula.

Smell: It has a very mild powdery smell.

Country of Origin/ Production: Made in Korea

Ingredients: I got the ingredients list in ebay and here they are: DI-water, 1.3BG, DPG, PG, MCT, Acacia Collagen, Liponic EG-1, Babasu Butter, Pionier0030, Squalane, PEG-90M, Natural Betain, Ar-165,TW-60, TSF-451-100, Kalcohol 6870, Carbopol 940, TSH7500, TSF-451-100

Directions: Use a minimal amount (probably half a teaspoon or less) for the entire face. Rub onto face and pat gently for total absorption. Please remember that the snail cream is really sticky and it takes time for skin absorption. Sometimes I skip using this snail cream in the morning because it is thick and it takes longer to absorb. I use more than half a teaspoon of the product at night especially when I get breakouts.

Effects (from ebay): moisturizes, nourishes and protects the skin. It is recommended for acne scars, sensitive and tired skin due to environmental factors, skin pores losing elasticity, uneven dark skin tone, irritated skin from shaving or skin clinic procedures, and increasing fine wrinkles from losing moisture and elasticity.

My experience: One of the reasons it took me some time blogging about it is because I don’t really see that great an effect on my skin. I use to not wear it everyday because albeit I know that it should be sticky because it’s a snail cream, it’s just a hassle applying it in the morning when I am in a rush. I usually just use this at night because it makes my skin oilier in the daytime. My skin can be problematic at times so I don’t really put the blame entirely on the snail cream. What I really like about it though is that it gives my face a healthy look. When I went to Korea and my skin really got dry and dark, the snail cream did help revive my skin tone and elasticity just after a few days I got back. Although the snail cream does not keep me from having breakouts, it helps with drying the pimples after 4-5 days.

*** when I was in Korea in winter and I did not use a proper hydrating moisturiser, the snail cream was not really enough to moisturise my face.

Will I buy it again?: As there are many snail creams in the market, I would like to try other brands. But if there are good deals at Gmarket, I probably would 🙂

So, that’s my story with The Skin House’s Wrinkle Snail System Cream.

Have you tried it before? What’s your experience? Care to share?

Cheers! 🙂

Secret Key Snail + EGF Repairing Gel Cream

8 Nov

I bought the snail + egf snail cream from Gmarket.

I found its ingredients and functions here:

  1. Snail Slime Extract – skin regeneration, improvement in skin balance, enhancement of skin elasticity
  2. EGF – enhancement of skin elasticity, prevention of wrinkles and saggy skin
  3. Witch Hazel Extract – calming and regenerating effects
  4. Aloe Vera Leaf Extract – superior moisturizing, whitening and protecting effects
  5. Beta-Glucan – enhancement of skin elasticity, ease wrinkles and saggy skin, correction of skin tone
  6. Lemon Extract – whitening, moisturizing and astringent effects

I got the Secret Key Snail + EGF Repairing Gel Cream last month. I just finished one 50g tub of the snail cream and I have started on the second one. Although it garnered fair reviews from some sites, I admit that I didn’t have high hopes for the cream because it is one of the inexpensive snail creams on Gmarket (is price relative to quality?).

First Impressions: The breakable (sturdier than glass) tub where the snail gel/cream is contained doesn’t look cheap. It also consists of a protective lid upon opening the cover. One gripe that I have with it is that it doesn’t have a spatula or spoon to scoop the gel, so using the finger can be unhygienic. You can use the spoon from other products though.

Appearance and Consistency: The product itself is a transparent gel that is viscous so spillage is next to impossible.

Smell: I can’t quite distinguish its smell, it smells natural though that may have come from the combination of the ingredients. I haven’t smelled a snail in my life so I can’t tell if it’s the snail that I smell 🙂

How I use it: I use it twice a day – morning and night after using toner, essence, eye cream and emulsion. I use an adequate amount during the day and put a generous amount at night. Since it is a gel type, it is light and cool on the skin. After applying it in the skin, it seems like there is a “protective” moisturising layer on top of my skin yet I can feel that it doesn’t suffocate the skin.

After religiously using it for a month, I was pleased with its effects on my skin. I have an oily/ acne and sensitive skin and although I still get pimples, my skin has improved greatly. The snail gel/cream has brightened and lightened my skin. My skin doesn’t appear dull, like it revitalized the quality of my skin. What I like most about it is that it lightened and gently faded my acne scars, this effect didn’t happen overnight though, it took some time for me to see the effects.

It was an experiment for me to try the Secret Key Snail + EGF Repairing Gel Cream and I am glad to have bought it. I can purchase it again but I want to try other snail creams in the market.

Have you tried any snail cream yet? What is your experience?

Cheers!
