Weekend Haul at CentralWorld & Siam Paragon

22 Apr

Hi everyone! How did you spend your Sunday?

It’s a really hot today again here in Bangkok so after I heard Mass, I decided to go to CentralWorld and indulge in the mall’s free air conditioner and give mine a rest check out the USA Fair. There were booths ranging from American schools and airlines, to American Embassy and importers of American products. The products were on discount prices but as much as I want to hoard chips, chocolates and the like, I can’t because I recently had an acid reflux attack 😦 so I have to behave.

Anyway, on to my loot…

Bare Foot Softening Foot Lotion – Bare Foot Self-Warming Foot Scrub – Facial Peel-off Mask – Bare Hands Hydrating Hand & Elbow Butter – Feeling Beautiful Facial Clay Mask

I was really planning to buy the face masks at Boots but I can’t decide which one to get. I was happy I got them at a really good deal. I haven’t tried any of these products… I hope they work well. Have you tried any of them?

Finesse Volumizing Conditioner – Voortman Fudge Chocolate Chip Cookies – Finesses Volumizing Shampoo

I don’t know why I bought these three products but I grew up using Finesse shampoo and conditioner so I just want to smell and remember the good old times. Like I said, I can’t eat chocolates at the moment so I will just be sharing this pack to the office tomorrow 😉

I really wasn’t feeling that well so I did not make an effort to check out each of my favourite shops in the mall. On my way to the skytrain, I realised that I need to grab some soup, chicken and crackers so I went to Gourmet Market at Siam Paragon.

Aloe Vera Herbal Conditioner – Organic Virgin Coconut Oil – Aloe Vera Herbal Shampoo

I was glad I saw these three items. I was looking for fresh aloe vera because I recently have been experiencing hair fall so I should be using only herbal hair care products. I hope to see good results from using them. Do you use organic products as well?

The day went by fast and it’s back-to-work Monday tomorrow again! I hope you had a fun weekend. Are you looking forward to going to work tomorrow?

Cheers 🙂

the saem is coming to Bangkok

28 Mar

I just have to quickly post about this as I am so excited to read about the saem coming to Bangkok. YAY! It will be located in a new shopping and lifestyle complex called Mega Bangna which is opening on May 3, 2012. How COOL is that!!! I am familiar with some of the saem’s products and most of them are well-received, too. I am supposed to be on a shopping ban starting next month but I have to visit the store when it opens! 🙂

I will update you as soon as I find more information about the saem and Mega Bangna.

Cheers 🙂

Haul from Seoul: Nature Republic

27 Mar

Nature Republic is one of the Korean brands I was excited to visit when I was in Seoul. There is a Nature Republic here in Bangkok but there are only two branches and are located quite far from where I live and work so I had to definitely check out their products. Although many of their skincare products are raved about, I just picked up a few items. Like what I said in my previous entries, I was really careful to not exceed my luggage’s weight limit.

I went to two Nature Republic shops in Dongdaemun and Myeongdong.

Taken in Myeongdong

In the picture: Jang Geun Seuk, the Nature Republic endorser

Here are the products I got:

Blackhead Brake Clear Nose Patch, So Big Curling Mascara, Fresh Farm Cleanser – Rice

By Flower BB Cream, Jelly Drop Gloss

Given by Nature Green Tea Mask Sheets

Nail Polishes

And the freebies and samples are…

A box of cotton pads, snail therapy mask sheets, herblier cleansing tissues and some samples

I haven’t tried any of the products since they are (again) presents for families and friends. Have you tried Nature Republic products? What is your experience? Care to share?

Cheers 🙂

Haul from Seoul: Innisfree

17 Mar

I am not really that familiar with Innisfree products but I know that their skincare products are also good. Aside from skincare products, they also have makeup and nail care lines.

I did not go to Innisfree in Myeongdong that’s why when I saw the tiny Innisfree branch in Hongdae, I seized the chance to have a look. I went there on our last day, when I was still unsure what the weight of luggage could be.

So I decided to just grab all things light 🙂 Here is my mini-haul…

The products that I got are:

– Natural Essential Masks in Banana, Kiwi and Avocado

– Jejubila Anti-Trouble Spot Patch

– Jeju Volcanic Nose Pack (Sachets)

– Q10 Collagen Eye Masks

The only sample that I got is a Green Tea Pure Sleeping Pack since the cost of the items that I bought are approximately only USD12.00.

I haven’t tried any of the items I got yet since I have a lot of products on hand. Also, some of these items are for my sister and friends.

Have you tried Innisfree yet? What’s your favourite Innisfree product? Care to share?

Cheers 🙂

The Skin House Wrinkle Snail System Cream

15 Mar

I got the snail cream here.

I got the Skin House Wrinkle Snail System Cream from Gmarket in November last year and I took some time to test it before I blogged about it. I forgot how much I got it for but I’m sure the price was not over KRW20000. I got the snail cream with two gifts: Skin House Lovely Kiss Lip Gloss and Skin House Speedy Recharge Water Mist.

This snail cream is the second brand of snail cream that I have tried. The first one I have tried is Secret Key Snail + EGF Gel Cream.

So, here’s my review of the Skin House Snail Cream. I have an oily/ combination skin and the weather here in Bangkok is usually hot and humid. Please do note that differences in skin types and probably weather conditions may result to different effects.

Price: The snail cream was a good value for money. It is now sold at KRW9900. I’m not sure if they still give out the same gifts.

Weight: 100mL

Packaging: The product comes in a plastic tub. It has a seal and a protective lid, too. There was no spillage during shipping.

Colour & Consistency: The snail cream looks white in the tub but when spread on the face it doesn’t make your face “ghost-like”; it actually is translucent when applied. For its consistency, it is sticky as how snail mucus should be. It seems thick yet runny.

Applicator: None. It doesn’t come with a spoon or spatula.

Smell: It has a very mild powdery smell.

Country of Origin/ Production: Made in Korea

Ingredients: I got the ingredients list in ebay and here they are: DI-water, 1.3BG, DPG, PG, MCT, Acacia Collagen, Liponic EG-1, Babasu Butter, Pionier0030, Squalane, PEG-90M, Natural Betain, Ar-165,TW-60, TSF-451-100, Kalcohol 6870, Carbopol 940, TSH7500, TSF-451-100

Directions: Use a minimal amount (probably half a teaspoon or less) for the entire face. Rub onto face and pat gently for total absorption. Please remember that the snail cream is really sticky and it takes time for skin absorption. Sometimes I skip using this snail cream in the morning because it is thick and it takes longer to absorb. I use more than half a teaspoon of the product at night especially when I get breakouts.

Effects (from ebay): moisturizes, nourishes and protects the skin. It is recommended for acne scars, sensitive and tired skin due to environmental factors, skin pores losing elasticity, uneven dark skin tone, irritated skin from shaving or skin clinic procedures, and increasing fine wrinkles from losing moisture and elasticity.

My experience: One of the reasons it took me some time blogging about it is because I don’t really see that great an effect on my skin. I use to not wear it everyday because albeit I know that it should be sticky because it’s a snail cream, it’s just a hassle applying it in the morning when I am in a rush. I usually just use this at night because it makes my skin oilier in the daytime. My skin can be problematic at times so I don’t really put the blame entirely on the snail cream. What I really like about it though is that it gives my face a healthy look. When I went to Korea and my skin really got dry and dark, the snail cream did help revive my skin tone and elasticity just after a few days I got back. Although the snail cream does not keep me from having breakouts, it helps with drying the pimples after 4-5 days.

*** when I was in Korea in winter and I did not use a proper hydrating moisturiser, the snail cream was not really enough to moisturise my face.

Will I buy it again?: As there are many snail creams in the market, I would like to try other brands. But if there are good deals at Gmarket, I probably would 🙂

So, that’s my story with The Skin House’s Wrinkle Snail System Cream.

Have you tried it before? What’s your experience? Care to share?

Cheers! 🙂
