Haul from Seoul: The Face Shop

24 Mar

Like what I said in my previous posts, I consider The Face Shop as one of my favourite brands. I never get breakouts from its skin care products and BB creams, the few makeup I got from the brand work well and have good quality, and its price is reasonable. Kim Hyun Joong as an endorser is also a plus factor 🙂

Of course, I had to take the opportunity to grab my essentials when I went to Seoul a few weeks ago. Now that I am looking at the products I got there, I realized that I didn’t really get a lot and that Ishould have gotten more.

Anyway, here’s my haul:

The Face Shop Snail BB Cream

I have tried using the Snail BB Cream and luckily I don’t get breakouts from it. I am not sure if it healed my hormonal pimples because I have only tried it twice. It only comes in one hue and like other BB creams it blends with the skin tone. I set it with my MAC Lightful Marine Bright Foundation Powder but I turned pasty. I have yet to find its best setting partner.

Clean Face Spot Corrector, Mild Lotion, Mild Toner

These are my backup products. I am currently using the products from the Clean Face line because I have really sensitive skin and I suddenly got breakouts on my chin. These products (lotion and toner) are gentle to the face and don’t tingle. I also use the facial cleanser from the same line.

Clean Face Sebum Control Soothing Mask Sheets

I was sales talked by the SA to get these as well 🙂 I haven’t tried them and I hope they work.

Konjac Sponge and Blush Brush

I love the konjac sponge! I was also sales talked into getting this but it was good that I got it. I really like its soft, jelly-ish texture (Konjac is a starchy plant used in making flour and jelly) which is very gentle to the skin. I use the konjac sponge when I wash my face. The angled brush on the other hand is made from synthetic hair. It is not that soft but it is dense.

And for the freebies 🙂 The bubbly sales attendant, who I think is a high school student, was happy I gave in to the products she recommended me. She was fun to talk to and really friendly so I didn’t mind. In return, she gave me a generous amount of freebies and samples.

Free mask and samples of Intevia Cream and some herbal emulsion (I don’t know its name). Both cream and emulsion are not available locally.

Kim Hyun Joong stickers and post cards

Since my haul was over KRW60,000, I was able to apply for VAT refund (which I did not even claim) of KRW3,500. If I am not mistaken, the minimum purchase which entitles you for a VAT refund is KRW30,000.

I really did not get much, but I have already over-shopped here to compensate for the “mini” shopping I did in Seoul. I just can’t resist The Face Shop, that’s why 🙂

Shopping is fun!

Cheers 🙂

Weekend Shopping: Freebies

22 Mar

I’ve been shopping so much these days and just to give you a break from my haul posts, I’m showing you the freebies I got instead of the products I bought 🙂 Call me weird but sometimes I get more excited with the samples and freebies I get from my purchases. Samples are also great when I travel. Instead of lugging bottles and bottles of products on a trip, I bring the samples with me. Of course, it’s a good marketing ploy, too 😉 I have already bought full-sized products after trying out the samples given to me.

I went to Skinfood in Central Rama 3 just to check out some nail polishes and masks. I wanted to also see if the sales attendants have become “nicer”; I didn’t quite like the sales attendants in that branch because they are not that pleasant. The lady, last Sunday,  was not even smiling. She seemed unhappy for me to buy from the shop when I am the only customer inside. Anyway, I digressed…

So, at Skinfood… I got …again… three bottles of nail polishes (matte and glittery ones), foot masks, trouble clear spot patch and a pair of falsies ( I don’t know why I got falsies for I don’t even know how to wear them) and I was given a few samples.

Among the samples, I am excited to try the Pomegranate Scalp Care Hair Pack the most since I want to strengthen my hair and lessen hair fall. I hope it works because I am planning to get the full-sized shampoo and conditioner which are quite expensive at around USD30 each.

Saying that I love The Face Shop is such an understatement! This is one shop that I can’t resist. The Face Shop’s skincare products suit my skin and I like their makeup and other goodies, too.  So everytime a visit a shop, I just have to get something, even just a bottle of nail polish.

My favourite The Face Shop branches are in Siam Paragon and Central Rama 3. The sales attendants are friendly and pleasant to deal with. Last weekend, I went to The Face Shop twice! I went to two branches with the purpose of getting just nail polishes… again… and cleansing tissues but I left the two shops with MORE! For the two days that I shopped at The Face Shop, I got a body lotion, BB cream, nail polishes, cleansing tissues, eye liner, cleansing oil, and nose packs.

Oh there’s a promotion at The Face Shop that entitles one to get the freebies and gifts with purchases starting from THB800. You can check out The Face Shop Thailand’s Facebook page for more information on promotions.

For my freebies and samples…

Kim Hyun Joong desk calendar, a mask, box of cottons and a set of Rice Water Bright Cleansing Special Set

a travel neck pillow and mask

… and yes, there’s a poster, too 🙂 I will just do a separate post for the pictures of the calendar and the poster, just in case there are Kim Hyun Joong fans out there who are interested 😉 Shopping is twice the fun with freebies and gifts, eh?

Do you love samples and freebies, too?

Cheers 🙂

Haul from Seoul: Innisfree

17 Mar

I am not really that familiar with Innisfree products but I know that their skincare products are also good. Aside from skincare products, they also have makeup and nail care lines.

I did not go to Innisfree in Myeongdong that’s why when I saw the tiny Innisfree branch in Hongdae, I seized the chance to have a look. I went there on our last day, when I was still unsure what the weight of luggage could be.

So I decided to just grab all things light 🙂 Here is my mini-haul…

The products that I got are:

– Natural Essential Masks in Banana, Kiwi and Avocado

– Jejubila Anti-Trouble Spot Patch

– Jeju Volcanic Nose Pack (Sachets)

– Q10 Collagen Eye Masks

The only sample that I got is a Green Tea Pure Sleeping Pack since the cost of the items that I bought are approximately only USD12.00.

I haven’t tried any of the items I got yet since I have a lot of products on hand. Also, some of these items are for my sister and friends.

Have you tried Innisfree yet? What’s your favourite Innisfree product? Care to share?

Cheers 🙂

Online Shopping… Again :)

11 Oct

iheartkoreanbeauty little parcel

Yes, I am one impatient girl. Since my parcels from my ebay and Gmarket shopping haven’t arrived yet, I decided to buy a few things from Zhen of http://iheartkoreanbeauty.mybigcommerce.com/. I made my order on October 1st and received the parcel on October 8th. She posted the parcel on the 5th and I got it so quick. Not that I am complaining 😉

It is always a breeze ordering from Zhen, she is accommodating and regularly communicates with me; she also sends me photos of the parcel before sending them. She is also generous with samples and indulges me with freebies albeit a small purchase.

Anyway, let’s look inside the little box. You can see that all items are properly bubble-wrapped so you are assured that the products are safe from breakage or spillage.

Skin79 Special Clear Set

Charmzone Red Wine Set (Sample Size)

 the saem BB Cream

 Baviphat Snail Cure Mask Sheet

I haven’t tried any of the products since I just got them last Sunday.  I am keen to try the Baviphat Snail Cure Mask Sheet, though. I know there is currently a snail craze in the skin care world and I wanna join in the bandwagon hehe. I am actually eyeing the It’s Skin Creme d’Escargot since I have read rave reviews about the product. It’s a bit pricey but if it works on my oily/acne/sensitive skin, why not, right? 🙂

Like I said earlier, the seller is generous with samples…

Samples!

… and freebies! Well, I asked Zhen if I can have one Lee Seung Gi postcard and she was kind enough to include not only one but three (!) postcards. Yay! Thanks so much!

Lee Seung Gi is ❤

I know I am on shopping detox but I just can’t help myself. I am still waiting for my ebay and 2 Gmarket packages but I.should.stop.until.I.get.my.second.Gmarket.purchase.  😀

Do you love shopping online? Care to share your experience?

Cheers!

Skinlite Brightening Essence Mask

8 Oct

While browsing at Boots, I saw some Korean-branded mask sheets. There was a buy one-get one free offer so I decided to try this brand.

According to its package, Skinlite Brightening Mask is for “skin radiance ans brightening. It contains Vitamin B, E, Phyto Collagen and powerful natural moisturizers including Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate (Licorice Root) and Portulaca Extract. This special formula helps retain radiant complexion and tones skin look younger and fresher after use”.

The mask is a little small for my face. Its holes for the eyes and mouth are round and big; the hole for the eyes is until around the middle of the nose while the hole for the mouth is about half an inch below the lower lip.

With a generous amount of essence, the thin mask sheet is not dripping. The essence’s consistency is a little sticky but it’s not uncomfortable on the face only on the hands but it’s okay because I can wash my hands anyway.

I left the mask on my face for 20 minutes (package says it can be left for 15-20minutes), I wanted to leave it longer but the chin part started to dry so I just removed it. I was surprised it dried after 20 minutes when it has adequate essence. Maybe the mask knows I want to use it more than the indicated time frame hehe 🙂

Skinlite Brightening Essence Mask did leave my face bright and fresh-looking. I got oily skin but my face did not become oily at all. I also did not feel any tingling or itching sensation despite a big pimple on my chin.

Oh, I suggest placing the mask in the fridge for a few minutes before putting it on your face for a more cool and refreshing “mask-ing” experience.

What’s your favourite mask sheet? Care to share?

Cheers!
