2012 Easter Haul

9 Apr

After hearing Mass yesterday, I decided to go to mall called Central Ladprao. It is a shopping mall that is located far from my church (12 stations away from the underground train) but I decided to go there because church ended before 10am and mall opening hours start at 10am. Precious time is not wasted waiting for the mall to open since it is already open when I arrived.

My sole purpose of going to the mall is to purchase a new TV so I went to different shops and checked out different brands and types of TV with their different features. As much as I already want to replace my coloured-now-black-and-white-later ancient TV, I hesitated to buy yet because I want to take advantage of the 7% VAT refund I can claim with purchases made two months before my travel in July. So, I still have one or two months for tv-hunting…

After checking out the TVs, I browsed from different shops to check out if there are any good deals available. I was happy to control buying more nail polishes and clothes but I was still able to get a few items from Nature Republic, Topshop (not pictured), Forever21, and from a little accessory booth outside the mall.

Here is my humble Easter 2012 haul:

Nature Republic

Real Nature Charcoal Peel-off Pack, Original Power Blemish Ampoule, Fresh Deodorant Spray

Nature Republic

Given by Flower Cherry Blossom Mask Sheets, Snail Therapy Mask Sheet (a freebie), Nail Design Sticker, Jelly Drop Gloss

Forever21 love & beauty 3x magnifying mirror & tweezer set and earrings

I just got them all yesterday so I haven’t used most of the items except for the Blemish Ampoule and mirror set. Please let me know if you are interested for any product review.

Enjoy your Monday! Cheers 🙂

Weekend Shopping: Freebies

22 Mar

I’ve been shopping so much these days and just to give you a break from my haul posts, I’m showing you the freebies I got instead of the products I bought 🙂 Call me weird but sometimes I get more excited with the samples and freebies I get from my purchases. Samples are also great when I travel. Instead of lugging bottles and bottles of products on a trip, I bring the samples with me. Of course, it’s a good marketing ploy, too 😉 I have already bought full-sized products after trying out the samples given to me.

I went to Skinfood in Central Rama 3 just to check out some nail polishes and masks. I wanted to also see if the sales attendants have become “nicer”; I didn’t quite like the sales attendants in that branch because they are not that pleasant. The lady, last Sunday,  was not even smiling. She seemed unhappy for me to buy from the shop when I am the only customer inside. Anyway, I digressed…

So, at Skinfood… I got …again… three bottles of nail polishes (matte and glittery ones), foot masks, trouble clear spot patch and a pair of falsies ( I don’t know why I got falsies for I don’t even know how to wear them) and I was given a few samples.

Among the samples, I am excited to try the Pomegranate Scalp Care Hair Pack the most since I want to strengthen my hair and lessen hair fall. I hope it works because I am planning to get the full-sized shampoo and conditioner which are quite expensive at around USD30 each.

Saying that I love The Face Shop is such an understatement! This is one shop that I can’t resist. The Face Shop’s skincare products suit my skin and I like their makeup and other goodies, too.  So everytime a visit a shop, I just have to get something, even just a bottle of nail polish.

My favourite The Face Shop branches are in Siam Paragon and Central Rama 3. The sales attendants are friendly and pleasant to deal with. Last weekend, I went to The Face Shop twice! I went to two branches with the purpose of getting just nail polishes… again… and cleansing tissues but I left the two shops with MORE! For the two days that I shopped at The Face Shop, I got a body lotion, BB cream, nail polishes, cleansing tissues, eye liner, cleansing oil, and nose packs.

Oh there’s a promotion at The Face Shop that entitles one to get the freebies and gifts with purchases starting from THB800. You can check out The Face Shop Thailand’s Facebook page for more information on promotions.

For my freebies and samples…

Kim Hyun Joong desk calendar, a mask, box of cottons and a set of Rice Water Bright Cleansing Special Set

a travel neck pillow and mask

… and yes, there’s a poster, too 🙂 I will just do a separate post for the pictures of the calendar and the poster, just in case there are Kim Hyun Joong fans out there who are interested 😉 Shopping is twice the fun with freebies and gifts, eh?

Do you love samples and freebies, too?

Cheers 🙂

Haul from Seoul: the saem, Tony Moly and Watsons

19 Mar

I still have a few pending haul posts from Seoul and it’s taking me ages to finish them all so I decide to do a collective haul from the saem, Tony Moly and Watsons since I didn’t buy a lot from each shop.

Let’s start with the stuff I got from the saem. Aside from Lee Seung gi, the reason I went to the saem is to get their Beam Cream but there’s none so I browsed quickly from the shop and just got these items:

the saem products:

– China Bible Mint Tea Foot & Leg Heel Cream

– Snail Trio Hand Cream in Cherry Blossom

– 2pcs. of Ardent Lady Highshine Serum Rouge

The freebies and samples:

The olive mask was given at the entrance (To entice buyers to enter the shop, they give out free stuff by the entrance. This is a pretty common practice in Myeongdong). The chaga serum and ylang ylang cleanser samples were given upon purchase, while the pen was given on my way out. Who doesn’t love free stuff? 🙂

I saw a Tony Moly shop in Dongdaemun and the reason why I went in is to get the Backstage Gel Liner in black.

The freebie was given at the entrance… So, yeah… the skincare/make up shops in Dongdaemun also give freebies once you enter the shop.

Nothing else was given for free for I purchased only one item.

At Hongdae when I saw a Watsons, I just browsed quickly inside. When I went outside I saw these Organia foot creams at KRW1,000 won each so I bought two pieces 🙂

I can’t give you any reviews or swatches of the items here as they all presents to friends and family again. I just want to show you what you can get there, just in case you visit Seoul one of these days.

Are you familiar with the products I bought?

Cheers 🙂

Snapshots from Seoul: Myeongdong

11 Mar

Myeongdong

From Wikipedia: Myeongdong is one of Seoul’s main shopping districts featuring mid-to-high priced retail stores and international brand outlets, including Lacoste, Polo Ralph Lauren, Forever 21, Bulgari, Louis Vuitton and Nature Republic. It is a particularly popular area for young people and tourists as a center for fashion and sight-seeing.Several large shopping centers and department stores are in the district including Lotte Department Store, Shinsegae Department Store, Migliore, M Plaza, and Noon Square. The floating population of Myeongdong is estimated to be around 2 million a dayand in terms of floorspace rents, Myeongdong is one of the most expensive shopping districts in the world. Many hotels, restaurants, cinemas, theaters, and historical sites complete the diverse mixture of the area.Seoul’s financial hub is divided between here and Yeouido where the Korea Stock Exchange is located. Major insurance, securities, financial services companies, and investment firms with headquarters in Myeongdong include Citibank, SK Corporation, Kookmin Bank, Korea Exchange Bank, Lone Star Funds, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, AIG Korea Insurance, Hana Bank, and HSBC. The Bank of Korea is also in the vicinity.

Other notable landmarks in Myeongdong include the Chinese Embassy, YWCA headquarters, UNESCO Hall, Myeongdong Theater, and the oldest Catholic cathedral in Korea, Myeongdong Cathedral.

Except for early morning and late night delivery hours, the main street and most of the alleys are blocked off for pedestrians to roam freely without being hindered by traffic.

I was not able to take a lot of photos in Myeongdong because I was rushing in and out of the shops. Myeongdong is not only a shopping haven but it is a feast for the senses – the colourful and many shops and products, different streetfood hawkers, music blaring in shops, and the list goes on. Going around Myeongdong is hazardous to your wallet, though 😉 I guess it was a blessing in disguise for us to have shopped there for just a couple of hours 😉 If ever I go back to Seoul, I would love to get lost in Myeongdong all day 🙂

 Cheers! 🙂
