Weekend Shopping: Freebies

22 Mar

I’ve been shopping so much these days and just to give you a break from my haul posts, I’m showing you the freebies I got instead of the products I bought πŸ™‚ Call me weird but sometimes I get more excited with the samples and freebies I get from my purchases. Samples are also great when I travel. Instead of lugging bottles and bottles of products on a trip, I bring the samples with me. Of course, it’s a good marketing ploy, too πŸ˜‰ I have already bought full-sized products after trying out the samples given to me.

I went to Skinfood in Central Rama 3 just to check out some nail polishes and masks. I wanted to also see if the sales attendants have become “nicer”; I didn’t quite like the sales attendants in that branch because they are not that pleasant. The lady, last Sunday, Β was not even smiling. She seemed unhappy for me to buy from the shop when I am the only customer inside. Anyway, I digressed…

So, at Skinfood… I got …again… three bottles of nail polishes (matte and glittery ones), foot masks, trouble clear spot patch and a pair of falsies ( I don’t know why I got falsies for I don’t even know how to wear them) and I was given a few samples.

Among the samples, I am excited to try the Pomegranate Scalp Care Hair Pack the most since I want to strengthen my hair and lessen hair fall. I hope it works because I am planning to get the full-sized shampoo and conditioner which are quite expensive at around USD30 each.

Saying that I love The Face Shop is such an understatement! This is one shop that I can’t resist. The Face Shop’s skincare products suit my skin and I like their makeup and other goodies, too. Β So everytime a visit a shop, I just have to get something, even just a bottle of nail polish.

My favourite The Face Shop branches are in Siam Paragon and Central Rama 3. The sales attendants are friendly and pleasant to deal with. Last weekend, I went to The Face Shop twice! I went to two branches with the purpose of getting just nail polishes… again… and cleansing tissues but I left the two shops with MORE! For the two days that I shopped at The Face Shop, I got a body lotion, BB cream, nail polishes, cleansing tissues, eye liner, cleansing oil, and nose packs.

Oh there’s a promotion at The Face Shop that entitles one to get the freebies and gifts with purchases starting from THB800. You can check out The Face Shop Thailand’s Facebook page for more information on promotions.

For my freebies and samples…

Β Kim Hyun Joong desk calendar, a mask, box of cottons and a set of Rice Water Bright Cleansing Special Set

a travel neck pillow and mask

… and yes, there’s a poster, too πŸ™‚ I will just do a separate post for the pictures of the calendar and the poster, just in case there are Kim Hyun Joong fans out there who are interested πŸ˜‰ Shopping is twice the fun with freebies and gifts, eh?

Do you love samples and freebies, too?

Cheers πŸ™‚

Christmas Shopping

8 Dec

It was a long weekend last week because it was His Majesty the King’s Birthday and Father’s Day so I went out and did a little browsing and Christmas shopping for family and friends. I went to two shopping malls, Central Chitlom and Central Rama 3. There are discounted items and promotions everywhere; had I not controlled myself I could have bought a lot of clothes for myself. Goodness me! πŸ˜‰

Anyway, I just got a small something from the department store, had it wrapped (free gift wrapping :)) and headed to the grocery.

I went out the next day again; went to Central Rama 3 this time as it is close to my apartment and there is a Skinfood shop there. I was looking for Skinfood Jojoba Oil Nail Essence but unfortunately they don’t have it. I grabbed a foot massage lotion and hand cream instead. Most of the items are discounted as well because Skinfood is celebrating its 6th year in Thailand. Well… as for my shopping experience, I kinda don’t like one of the sales assistants (SA1) there, she is not friendly and bordering on being rude. She forced me to rate them or probably their service and handed me a tiny piece of paper with boxes to tick. The other sales assistant told her I can’t speak in Thai. She (SA1) made face and told me to just tick the box. Argh! I hate it when someone pushes you to do something you don’t know and understand. Although I got irritated, I still ticked a box anyway without knowing what it was. Β There was no point in me complaining or arguing because we might not understand each other anyway. It was actually my first time to buy Skinfood products at a physical shop (and not from online sellers) and I didn’t like the experience. I am not sure how they fare at other Skinfood shops, though. Ooppsss… sorry for the digression.

I walked around the shops and browsed dresses, shoes and whathaveyou. I was really holding myself not to get something because I have just bought skincare, make up and some dresses recently so I shouldn’t be tempted. I wanted to get something, even a nail polish, at The Face Shop (my fave! customer service is tops at the Central Rama 3 branch, too) but I am expecting a set of the Clean Face series so no buying from there, too.

I went to Muji (and it’s on sale, too) and checked its wide variety of items. I like Muji because it’s so zen. I got a few things, too and have them wrapped as well. I will go back Β on the weekend. Or I might go to CentralWorld and check out Uniqlo and Forever 21 πŸ™‚

What is a mall outing without food? Since I was craving for tonkatsu for ages, I had katsudon and tonkatsu in miso sauce in both days haha. And I said I was on no-pork diet πŸ˜‰

Katsudon

Tonkatsu in Miso Sauce

And of course…

Iced Green Tea

It’s going to be another long weekend this coming weekend as Constitution Day is on Saturday. Monday will be a holiday. Β I might be malling or dining out again, but with friends this time. How about you, what do you do on holidays and long weekends?

Cheers! πŸ™‚

Nail Polish Love: Lovely ME:EX RD301

26 Sep
Nice red tint

Nice red tint

Nail polish makes me happy πŸ˜‰

I have regained my love for painting my nails. I change my nail colour twice or thrice a week depending on my mood πŸ˜‰

I love red nail polish and I’m glad to have bought and tried the Lovely ME:EX RD301 (weird name for a nail polish, right?) at The Face Shop in Central Rama 3 here in Bangkok. RD301 is bright pastel red which gives a youthful tinge. It’s perfect for the young and young-at-heart πŸ˜‰

The nail polish consistency is not runny and not thick either so it was easy to apply on the nails.

I included pictures with RD301 on my nails. It’s not perfect with the smudges and all but in my opinion it’s still not bad considering my short and imperfectly-shaped nails.

Update: Lovely ME:EX RD301 is of good quality. It did not chip on my nails until the 6th day.

Care to share about your favourite nail polish or nail polish colour?

Cheers!
