Haul from Seoul: H&M

14 Mar

My shopping haul from H&M in Myeongdong cannot be actually called a “haul” per se because I only got two items.

Anyway, I went to Seoul for a winter trip right? I was in a group tour so shopping was always rushed and worse, came with a time limit. When our tour group was finally in Myeongdong, our guide told us that we can shop the whole of Myeongdong for less than two hours. The shopaholic in me was really tensed as I want to visit as many shops as I can, and of course… buy stuff!

My sister requested me to go to H&M and get her daughter, my niece, some pretty headbands, tights and whatnot. Yes, my 7-month old niece is fashionista like that ūüôā H&M was the first shop I entered and boy, was it big! The children’s section was in the fourth floor and I had to breeze through the stairs to reach it. Whew! I was sweating in the winter cold with my four-layered clothing plus the heater in H&M was on full blast methinks. Fortunately, the kid’s part of the shop wasn’t really crowded so it was easy for me to navigate around. ¬†I only got my niece a headband and pair of tights in the whole of H&M. I browsed for probably about two minutes in the women’s section but there was nothing really nice on sale (yeah, I looked for them first) and I was in a hurry.

And since I was in a rush, I flew down the stairs – again – as fast as I could. When I got to the bottommost part of the stairs, I saw the lift in all its glory. Good times, eh?! As much as I wanted to throw tantrums and yell for stupidly not seeing the lift, I couldn’t waste more time so I just searched for the next interesting shop I can see.

Now that I look back, I wished I spent at least another ten minutes in H&M as there is still no H&M here in Bangkok. Oh well, there’s always a next time ūüėČ

Do you love shopping at H&M? Apart from H&M in Myeongdong, the last H&M shopping I did was when I went to London four years ago ūüôā Hope H&M comes to Bangkok soon.

Cheers! ūüôā

*Date Ordered (2): November 16, 2011

Ordered Completed: November 19, 2011

Date of Shipment: November 21, 2011 (One item was cancelled on same day)

Date Received: November 24, 2011

(*I had two sets of order so I combined shipping)

Note: Please pardon this pic-heavy post.

Who sent my package? ūüėČ

This November haul from Gmarket is by far the headache-free order I had from the site, well, save for the cancelled item (I don’t know the reason for cancellation but it was quickly refunded to my PayPal account).¬† I combined shipping for two orders and I was able to save EMS fees.

Yes, this is stress-free since this is the first time that I did not pay extra duty and taxes at the Post Office. The package was successfully delivered to my apartment.

The box is full of individual boxes/ packages from the different sellers.

And the goodies are…

This is quite a good deal. This is a 1 + 3 promo, which means you get three free items when you buy one product (it’s a choice between the honey primer and a radiant something… ooppss,¬†I forgot what it was, it was a highlighter). The freebies are a honey mist, which smells so sweet and is really refreshing, a little bottle of eye make up remover and some download coupons (anyone who wants the download coupons can leave me a message for the codes¬†since I have no use for them). I was actually expecting a box of cottons/ tissues as the third freebie since that is what’s mentioned in the site. Wonder what happened?

I was surprised that the Yojolady Snail Secretion is a little, little item (4mL). I tried a drop of it on my skin and it tingled, it is strong. I haven’t used it and I am quite hesitant to use it. I inquired from the seller how to use it and I was told it should be mixed with Blemish Out toner or it can be used purely on a blemish. I tiny drop should suffice. The seller sent me a sample of the toner and some brochures, most of them are in Korean, though.

The Peripera nail polishes  were on 1+1+1+1 offer. Love their quality (I tried one) and how they are packaged. The purple and the pink ones are new colours for autumn. Like I said in my previous post, I would like to try the perfumed nail polishes next.

The Cellio lipsticks are also value for money items as they are on 1+1+1 offer. I haven’t checked the quality of the lipsticks though. Their colours are much darker than advertised on the site but I hope it can be applied well on the lips and are not drying. It came with a free cucumber mask and download coupon (again, to anyone who wants the code for the coupon can message me and I will give it to you).

I am super excited¬†for the Skin House snail cream. The snail craze hasn’t worn off on me yet and I am still in search for snail creams. I also got this particular snail cream¬†on promotion with a free lip gloss and mist. Even its price is discounted, so it is definitely a good deal. Some of the¬†snail cream¬†leaked from the¬†jar and it is really sticky. Hope it works well with my skin. Oh, there’s a note with the package but unfortunately I can’t read Korean so I don’t know what it is about.

I was most excited for these two dresses that¬†I ordered. But I am not so much satisfied with the quality but its cheap so I got what I paid for. These dresses look so much prettier in the pictures though. I thought I ordered black but I got purple instead. The purple dress had a different hue from the site. The orange & blue dress has a hood, that feature wasn’t highlighted in the seller’s page so I didn’t notice. I thought I can wear this to work but it’s too casual. I hate hoods too.

Anyway, there might be a few misses but I am quite satisfied. I found good deals with the other items. I can’t wait to do another haul for my Christmas presents purchase.

Gmarket is so addicting¬† but it’s so fun. It takes a lot of patience to select and order an item but when you get used to it, you wouldn’t mind it anymore. If you have questions, you can message the sellers and they reply. I message them in English and they reply in English as well. Well, some reply in Korean but you can always translate them via Google or Babylon. Gmarket customer service assistants¬†are especially helpful too. They reply to my queries and message me if need be.

Have you tried shopping at Gmarket? How was your experience? Oh, drop me a note in the comments section if you need links for the products or if you want reviews of the items.

Cheers! ūüôā

Payday Shopping at CentralWorld

1 Oct

My blog is getting so much like a shopping blog :p I dunno why but my shopping sickness has kicked in and has been around for four months now. I promise this to be the last for the month though, as I am still waiting for my Gmarket and ebay purchases. I will be on shopping detox after this weekend. For real.

Anyway, I still decided to go out this afternoon because if¬†I stayed home I will just be¬†itching to buy something off Gmarket so I went to the mall so I can stretch my legs hehe.¬†Actually, I was planning to go to Platinum Fashion Mall (This Bangkok mall is a treasure trove of goodies ūüôā It is a¬†5 or 6-storey shopping center where you can get clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, souvenirs, etc at wholesale prices. You have to allot at least half a day to scour every shop and find the best deals)¬†instead of CentralWorld. Traffic was sooo bad that I had to get off the bus and took a cab to CentralWorld instead.

I checked out Aldo, next, Dorothy Perkins, Zara and UNIQLO. I just purchased three pairs of shoes in the past two months so no shoe purchase today. I found some nice dresses at Dorothy Perkins but I wanted to check out Forever 21 first. As I passed by B2S, a bookshop, I browsed the laptop bags quickly and found something that I like.

I got this green Case Logic bag not only because it was on sale but because I needed a bag for my portable DVD player. It will come in handy when I travel.

I went to Tony Moly afterwards. I found only the cheapest stuff because I have a lot of make up and my next Gmarket shopping will consist of Tony Moly products which are way cheaper than the prices here.

Tony Moly Mask Sheets & Nail Polishes

Tony Moly Mask Sheets & Nail Polishes

This¬†is my first time to buy from Tony Moly Thailand. I only got 2 Green Tea Essential Mask Sheet Packs, Hyaluronic Acid Natural Pulp Essence Sheet Mask, Top Coat Nail Polish (TC01) and Glittery Yellow Nail Polish (PP02). I didn’t get any sample from this shop. I saw brochures (I think it was¬†a Tony Moly product brochure)¬†with Song Joong Ki on the cover which¬†I wanted but it was not offered to me by the shop assistant so I didn’t ask for it anymore. I’ll just keep the plastic bag haha.

My next stop¬†was The Face Shop. I really can’t resist coming in a Face Shop store; I think I buy from them 4 times a month. The products at The Face Shop may be a little pricey but they are well-adapted to my skin. I still have a lot of products so I¬†just chose what I need for the moment. But, I really don’t need anything I think ūüėČ

The Face Shop Emulsion, Masks & Blemish Patch

The Face Shop Emulsion, Masks & Blemish Patch

Oh! I’m having problems with my pimples on my chin and forehead now (boo!),¬†so I¬†chose products to address this need. I got a Quick & Clean Mild Emulsion, Kiwi Yoghurt Pack (Wash Off), and Clean Face White Intensive Blemish Clear Patch. Since I’m a Face Shop member and my purchase was quite a lot (I think) I wasn’t shy¬†to ask for samples. I was given two mask sheets – Vita A Mask Sheet (Carrot and Avocado Extracts with skin firming) and Vita C Mask Sheet (Strawberry and Raspberry Extracts with skin tone brightening). I really don’t know why they don’t give away samples here.

I got a 20% discount with my mask and skincare purchase (I think they forgot to deduct a further 5% because I’m a member. I never check the receipt, that’s why). Oh, there¬†was a table with products at 50% off. I didn’t find anything I like, though two of the nail polishes I bought yesterday were discounted that much at the CentralWorld branch. Tsk.

Despite not having eaten lunch and a-quite-sore feet, I still headed straight to Forever 21 to look for dresses that’s not too casual and not too serious which I can wear to work.

Forever 21 Dress, Pants & Make up Cleansing Tissues

Forever 21 Dress, Pants & Make up Cleansing Tissues

I only got a purple dress, black pants and Purederm Make up Cleansing Tissues for my next clothes shopping will be at Gmarket ;). Forever 21 has still the promotion that THB1,600 purchase will enable you to get a free watch. I got a red one this time. I already had a purple watch from shopping there last September.

After a quick lunch at KFC, my last shopping stop was at Bershka. I found lovely and relatively inexpensive shoes (from THB1,800-2,900)¬† with chunky sky high heels and platforms. I really want them but I resisted the temptation. There’s always a next time ūüėČ

I finished my shopping for the day with an anticipated Mass at Holy Redeemer Church.

Tomorrow’s schedule? I’m going to Browhaus at Siam Discovery. I have yet to check if I need to make an appointment or can just walk in.

How’s your weekend so far? Hope y’all have a good one! Cheers!

Shopping at The Face Shop + Forever 21

13 Sep

Shopping Bags
I went to CentralWorld today because I want to get my assistant a farewell present. I was planning to get her a shirt at UNIQLO since some stuff are still at introductory prices with its recent opening here in Bangkok last week. But since I wanted to try new skin care and cosmetic products I headed to the Korean skin care and cosmetics brands instead.
I first went to Etude House but the price of the products are really expensive when they’re not as costly in Korea or even in the Philippines. I headed next to Tony Moly; it was my first time to visit the actual¬†shop. I wanted to get some nail polish, gel liner and the Tomatox Brightening Mask so I asked the sales assistant how much should the minimum purchase be¬†to avail of the membership; it has to be at least THB2,500. I deemed that my purchases won’t reach that much; I’m also not so familiar with the product reviews so I decided to transfer to my tried and proven brand,¬†The Face Shop.

Being a regular shopper at The Face Shop, I am familiar with some products but I discovered newer goodies at the CentralWorld shop which is also bigger than my frequently visited branches, Central Rama 3 and Siam Paragon. I decided right there and then that I will give my assistant The Face Shop (TFS)¬†products as a farewell present. While browsing products for my soon-to-be former colleague and myself, I made sure to ask about the TFS membership. With my past purchases (which were a lot), the SAs never really offered me membership since probably they assumed that I am just a tourist. Oh well…

Here’s my mini-haul:

TFS Products + TFS membership card + GWP

Since I bought more than THB2,000 TFS products I was entitled¬†to Kim Hyun Joong (KHJ)’s “Break Down” mini-album. KHJ is the face of The Face Shop. Of course, I am happy to receive it since I am fan. A BIG fan ūüôā

I left The Face Shop happy ūüôā But I wonder why I always never get any TFS samples.¬† I have never really experienced getting samples with my purchases from Korean brands here in Bangkok. Or maybe it’s just me. Oh wait, they gave me a bit at Holika Holika shop here¬†ūüėČ

Anyway, I also dropped by UNIQLO as I saw a lot of people holding paperbags from the shop. Besides, I haven’t been really inside a UNIQLO¬†shop. I remember seeing a shop in Oxford Street in London but I just walked passed it. Here in the Bangkok shop being barely a week old, there were still quite a number of people inside so I didn’t bother to¬†look at¬†everything. I just checked the THB290 shirts and they’re not quite bad. The opening promotion ends on the 18th of September. Maybe I have to go back on the weekend again.

As I need some clothes for work, I decided to have a look at Forever 21. I was only supposed to be window shopping but a mini-dress caught my eye and fit me. I can wear it to work so I decide to get it. As I was queueing by the till, I saw a mini poster that says a free watch will be given to purchases worth THB1,699. My dress was around THB1,290 so I went back and tried on a couple of dresses more. I liked a pale blue tunic and bought it as well to make my purchase more worthwhile hehehe. Of course, I got the watch. Who couldn’t resist a GWP? ūüėČ

Shopping is so much fun!Cheers!
