Kim Hyun Joong’s The Face Shop 2012 Calendar

27 Mar

I went shopping a few weekends ago at The Face Shop and among the many samples and freebies the sales attendant gave me was The Face Shop 2012 calendar featuring their endorser, Kim Hyun Joong. This calendar should be very precious to all his fans (including me hehe) out there as it contains his different pictures for every month. Like what I said in my earlier post, I will make an entry showing the pictures from the desktop calendar.

Anyway, here are the scans…I know we’re almost entering April but anyhow, enjoy! (Picture-heavy post, sorry)

the calendar and pictures

I decided to just combine two months in one picture because it’s going to be a really long post.

January & February

March & April

May & June

July & August

September & October

November & December

So, how do you like The Face Shop 2012 calendar? Which months are your favourites?  To those who want to see Kim Hyun Joong’s full pictures for each month, please just comment or email me and I’ll share them with you.

Cheers 🙂

Haul from Seoul: The Face Shop

24 Mar

Like what I said in my previous posts, I consider The Face Shop as one of my favourite brands. I never get breakouts from its skin care products and BB creams, the few makeup I got from the brand work well and have good quality, and its price is reasonable. Kim Hyun Joong as an endorser is also a plus factor 🙂

Of course, I had to take the opportunity to grab my essentials when I went to Seoul a few weeks ago. Now that I am looking at the products I got there, I realized that I didn’t really get a lot and that Ishould have gotten more.

Anyway, here’s my haul:

The Face Shop Snail BB Cream

I have tried using the Snail BB Cream and luckily I don’t get breakouts from it. I am not sure if it healed my hormonal pimples because I have only tried it twice. It only comes in one hue and like other BB creams it blends with the skin tone. I set it with my MAC Lightful Marine Bright Foundation Powder but I turned pasty. I have yet to find its best setting partner.

Clean Face Spot Corrector, Mild Lotion, Mild Toner

These are my backup products. I am currently using the products from the Clean Face line because I have really sensitive skin and I suddenly got breakouts on my chin. These products (lotion and toner) are gentle to the face and don’t tingle. I also use the facial cleanser from the same line.

Clean Face Sebum Control Soothing Mask Sheets

I was sales talked by the SA to get these as well 🙂 I haven’t tried them and I hope they work.

Konjac Sponge and Blush Brush

I love the konjac sponge! I was also sales talked into getting this but it was good that I got it. I really like its soft, jelly-ish texture (Konjac is a starchy plant used in making flour and jelly) which is very gentle to the skin. I use the konjac sponge when I wash my face. The angled brush on the other hand is made from synthetic hair. It is not that soft but it is dense.

And for the freebies 🙂 The bubbly sales attendant, who I think is a high school student, was happy I gave in to the products she recommended me. She was fun to talk to and really friendly so I didn’t mind. In return, she gave me a generous amount of freebies and samples.

Free mask and samples of Intevia Cream and some herbal emulsion (I don’t know its name). Both cream and emulsion are not available locally.

Kim Hyun Joong stickers and post cards

Since my haul was over KRW60,000, I was able to apply for VAT refund (which I did not even claim) of KRW3,500. If I am not mistaken, the minimum purchase which entitles you for a VAT refund is KRW30,000.

I really did not get much, but I have already over-shopped here to compensate for the “mini” shopping I did in Seoul. I just can’t resist The Face Shop, that’s why 🙂

Shopping is fun!

Cheers 🙂

Weekend Shopping: Freebies

22 Mar

I’ve been shopping so much these days and just to give you a break from my haul posts, I’m showing you the freebies I got instead of the products I bought 🙂 Call me weird but sometimes I get more excited with the samples and freebies I get from my purchases. Samples are also great when I travel. Instead of lugging bottles and bottles of products on a trip, I bring the samples with me. Of course, it’s a good marketing ploy, too 😉 I have already bought full-sized products after trying out the samples given to me.

I went to Skinfood in Central Rama 3 just to check out some nail polishes and masks. I wanted to also see if the sales attendants have become “nicer”; I didn’t quite like the sales attendants in that branch because they are not that pleasant. The lady, last Sunday,  was not even smiling. She seemed unhappy for me to buy from the shop when I am the only customer inside. Anyway, I digressed…

So, at Skinfood… I got …again… three bottles of nail polishes (matte and glittery ones), foot masks, trouble clear spot patch and a pair of falsies ( I don’t know why I got falsies for I don’t even know how to wear them) and I was given a few samples.

Among the samples, I am excited to try the Pomegranate Scalp Care Hair Pack the most since I want to strengthen my hair and lessen hair fall. I hope it works because I am planning to get the full-sized shampoo and conditioner which are quite expensive at around USD30 each.

Saying that I love The Face Shop is such an understatement! This is one shop that I can’t resist. The Face Shop’s skincare products suit my skin and I like their makeup and other goodies, too.  So everytime a visit a shop, I just have to get something, even just a bottle of nail polish.

My favourite The Face Shop branches are in Siam Paragon and Central Rama 3. The sales attendants are friendly and pleasant to deal with. Last weekend, I went to The Face Shop twice! I went to two branches with the purpose of getting just nail polishes… again… and cleansing tissues but I left the two shops with MORE! For the two days that I shopped at The Face Shop, I got a body lotion, BB cream, nail polishes, cleansing tissues, eye liner, cleansing oil, and nose packs.

Oh there’s a promotion at The Face Shop that entitles one to get the freebies and gifts with purchases starting from THB800. You can check out The Face Shop Thailand’s Facebook page for more information on promotions.

For my freebies and samples…

Kim Hyun Joong desk calendar, a mask, box of cottons and a set of Rice Water Bright Cleansing Special Set

a travel neck pillow and mask

… and yes, there’s a poster, too 🙂 I will just do a separate post for the pictures of the calendar and the poster, just in case there are Kim Hyun Joong fans out there who are interested 😉 Shopping is twice the fun with freebies and gifts, eh?

Do you love samples and freebies, too?

Cheers 🙂

Kpop Keepsakes

2 Nov

Some of the perks of buying Korean brand make up and skincare products are the samples and freebies. Some of the freebies come in the form of post cards, folders, pens, umbrellas, make up kits, brushes, CD and the list goes on… Well, I buy for the product and not for the freebie but if I get something complimentary, it makes me really happy 🙂 Who doesn’t love a freebie, anyway.

If you are such a Kpop follower and fan, it is a PLUS if your “idol” endorses a certain brand because more often than not, the freebie given away would contain their pictures or autographs so these things are really good addition to your collection. I know it’s also a marketing ploy to attract the fans but it works 😉

I don’t consider myself a die-hard fan but as you may have read here in my blog I do love shopping so I have collected a few items and kept them as souvenirs, hehehe.

I got the CN Blue plastic folder and the membership card when I (naturally!) became a member at Holika Holika.

It is not actually a freebie but a paper bag with Jang Geun Seuk’s face when I shopped a few items at Nature Republic.

Kim Hyun Joong’s Breakdown mini-album is by far the best freebie I got from The Face Shop. The membership card also bears his handsome face.

I ❤ Lee Seung Gi that’s why I asked for these post cards hehe.

I also kept this Tony Moly plastic bag with Song Joong Ki’s face. The card with his and Ga In’s face is the “unknown” card given to me by Tony Moly when I shopped through Gmarket.

Well, Hyun Bin is not really a Kpop idol but I got these post cards and fridge magnet when we watched the premier night of “Come Rain, Come Shine” here in Bangkok.

I don’t really display these items but I do safe-keep them. I got a knack for collecting knick knacks and the Kpop souvenirs just become part of my collection :).
